“Michael, Michael, Michael. What did you do? The rings, the bling, the logo, the legacy. End of story.”
We’ve seen that Jumpman ad. Maybe more than necessary tbh. But we think it sums up the general feeling of “Adfghjklfghjk! Take my money!” whenever a new Jordan is released into the world. Particularly, the sneaker king, Air Jordan 1. Be it in any silhouette (High, Low) or draped in any colourway (orange, tie dye, whatever print), AJ1s can still make our hearts beat a little faster and our hands go for our wallets. Yeah, we blame you Michael Jordan.
So here we are, staring at another AJ1. A Mid this time. We know what you’re thinking: “Mids suck!” Stop. Arguably, it’s the middle child of the AJ1 family tree, but still an important, popular, beautiful child. Mids (inch shorter than the AJ1 High, has 8 pairs of lace eyelets) are making a strong comeback recently, and we’re here for it.
This Air Jordan 1 Mid comes in tumbled leather (translation: treated leather with a subtle sheen). But what we extra like about this is the classic Black/White base with a bang Chile Red Swoosh.
What middle child syndrome? The sneaker is confident, independent and the meeting ground if you can’t make up your mind between High or Low. And FYI, Michael actually played wearing the original mid-top sneaker design. So stop the hate, mmkay.
