The Forum returns with a re-vamped look suitable for all fits. First brought to life in France in 1983, Jacques Chassaing tried to solve the mystery of an all inclusive design that appeals to all basketball players. The needed push came from the greatest basketball player himself: Michael Jordan (don’t @us). MJ rocked an adidas sneaker at the 1984 Olympic Games with Team USA a year before the Jordans came to be announced. Today’s Classic Rewind will revive the legacy of the classic Adidas Forum, first released to the public in 1984.
Shoe innovator Chassaing had a specific goal in mind: to fortify the Achilles heel. Using 'the criss-cross ankle system' he managed to bring fortitude to the most vulnerable part of the ankle. This unique adidas addition redefined the combination of firm laces and pull-out straps. This retro look lives on today to suit all kinds of clothing choices in all seasons. Whether its for casual wear dresses, or sportswear training suits, this classic set fits all tastes, heights and choices. The material contrast between soft leather and rough suede is pleasing to both touch and sight. Worn by the world’s highest paid model, Kendall Jenner, its hard not to see the Adidas Forums as a fashion statement.
The basketball-like aesthetic of the Adidas Forums coupled with the iconic three stripes in suede topped by a Velcro strap – lace combination is too perfectly nostalgic. It is available in all collar heights and most famously in white and royal blue. We are certainly glad that this release is re-surfacing to its rightful place amongst the must-haves for all sneakerheads. Pro basketballer Mylo Mitchell breaks down how he fell in love with the forum.
